Radiator and valve repairs

We work on water-side radiator faults and associated pipework, including leaking valves, damaged radiators and agreed replacements.

What you might notice

Water around a valve or connection
Tell us which side of the radiator is wet and whether the leak is continuous.
One radiator stays cool
Whether other radiators heat normally helps distinguish a local issue from a wider fault.
A radiator needs replacing or moving
Tell us the approximate size, location and whether the existing connections can be reused.
The top stays cold while the bottom warms
Air can collect at the top of a radiator. Tell us whether it gurgles, how many radiators are affected and whether the pattern returns after bleeding.
The bottom stays cold while the top warms
Restricted flow or deposits can produce this pattern. We consider the other radiators and the accessible valves before discussing what work is appropriate.
Water comes from the radiator body
A leak through a corroded panel needs a different approach from a dripping valve or joint. Tell us whether the panel itself is wet or whether the water starts at one end.

Which part needs attention?

Thermostatic radiator valve (TRV)
This is usually the numbered control that adjusts room heat. If one radiator stays cold while others warm up, we check the valve and local flow.
Lockshield valve and pipe connections
The valve at the opposite end is often used to balance flow. A visible drip may come from the valve or its connection to the radiator or pipe.
Replacing or moving a radiator
We check the size, mounting surface, pipe positions and whether the water side needs to be drained. Tell us if flooring, walls or skirting have recently been changed.

What we can do

Water-side work can include replacing radiators or valves, bleeding, and draining and refilling where appropriate. We discuss whether the system or part of it needs isolating before work. Gas work and boiler servicing or repairs are outside our scope.

Before you get in touch

Send a picture of the radiator and both valves, and tell us whether it leaks or simply heats unevenly. For relocation, describe the new position and floor type.

Planning your visit

What happens next

  1. Describe the job

Send your postcode, what is happening and a photo if it helps. Tell us if water is still escaping.

  2. Agree the visit

We confirm availability and explain the basis of any attendance or investigation charge before booking.

  3. Agree and check the work

We explain what we find, agree any further work and check the affected plumbing afterwards.

Common questions

Do you repair boilers?

We cover radiators, valves and related water-side pipework. Use a suitably qualified provider for boiler or gas work.

Can you give me an estimate?

We discuss the work and the basis of any attendance or investigation charge before booking. Where the fault or access is uncertain, we may need to assess it first. We discuss any change to the agreed scope before additional work.
