Burst pipe repairs
A split pipe or failed connection can release water quickly. Call us with the postcode, where the pipe is and whether the supply is isolated so we can discuss the immediate problem and availability.
What you might notice
- A visible split or break
- This may be in a cupboard, loft or another accessible part of the property. Tell us if the water continues after isolation.
- Pipe damaged during other work
- Tell us what work was under way and where the pipe was struck. The affected section may be behind a finish.
- Water escaping after a cold spell
- A pipe or fitting can start leaking as it thaws. We check the damaged area and accessible connections nearby.
- A fitting has come apart
- A failed joint or damaged flexible connector can release as much water as a split pipe. Note what is visible from a safe position and whether an isolation valve can stop the flow.
- The stop tap is stuck or leaking
- A stop tap that will not close can prevent isolation. Avoid forcing it and tell us whether the water serves more than one home.
Common burst-pipe situations
- Loft, garage or outside pipes after frost
- Water may appear only when the pipe thaws. We check the exposed damaged section and accessible nearby joints before agreeing a repair.
- Pipework behind a wall, ceiling or cabinet
- We may need safe access to reach the damage. We explain what needs opening and whether making good needs separate agreement.
What we can do
We check the affected supply, discuss access and agree whether the job calls for a make-safe step or a repair. After agreed work, we restore the supply where safe and check the repaired section and relevant connections.
Before you get in touch
If you know where the internal stop tap is and can reach it safely, turn it off. Stay clear of affected electrics and unstable ceilings. Call with details of the damage and access.

Describe the job
Send your postcode, what is happening and a photo if it helps. Tell us if water is still escaping.

Agree and check the work

Common questions
What if I cannot turn the water off?
Call and explain that the water is still running. Tell us what you know about the stop tap and whether the supply serves other properties. Avoid forcing a stuck valve.
The water is off. Do I still need a repair?
Isolation can stop water reaching the damaged section. Tell us which facilities are affected so we can discuss repairing the pipe and restoring the supply.
Can you give me an estimate?
We discuss the work and the basis of any attendance or investigation charge before booking. Where the fault or access is uncertain, we may need to assess it first. We discuss any change to the agreed scope before additional work.
